CHAKRA BASICS - Beginners/All Levels
For beginners or those interested in a moderate practice, physical movement, alignment and breathwork serve to develop physical strength, and flexibility, breath awareness, energy (prana) flow and focused attention. Chakras are described as metaphysical, psychoenergetic vortices of energy that define the various aspects, qualities and actions of prana; there are seven such 'wheels' of energy threaded like beads on a string connecting the base of our spine to the crown of the head. The practices of hatha yoga are effective because they strengthen the flow of prana in our bodies invigorating the current so it carries away obstructions and toxins that block the free flow of energy.

CHAKRA FLOW - All levels
An ongoing exploration of the polarities inherent in movement, the breath and the attention which serve to stimulate and open up energy meridians in the body to the flow of prana. Guided visualization focuses sensory awareness and vinyasa-inspired movements gradually awaken the physical and energy bodies beginning with the hips and sacro-iliac and progressively working through the vortices of the chakras from a place of grounding towards the experience of objective observation, heightened awareness and calm abiding.

CHAKRA FLOW - Intermediate
A more advanced exploration of the polarities and energy currents inherent in movement, the breath and the attention which serve to stimulate and open up energy meridians in the body to the flow of prana.

FLOW YOGA - All levels
Flow yoga, also known as vinyasa, is the practice of synergizing breath with movement as a way of engaging dynamically with what is. It is, simply put, the practice of awareness in action: Observing what you are doing as you are doing it, what is going on as it is going on, and staying present with the sensations and feelings and thoughts and breath as they come and go. The simple act of paying attention to what comes up in practice has the effect of shifting and changing the nature of that which arises in our awareness. Come to your mat with curiosity and enjoy the journey.

SLOW FLOW - All levels
Enjoy the gentle synthesis of movement, breath, and energy in this slow flow class. As the nervous system relaxes, the mind slows down, the muscles become more elastic, the breath deepens, our inner chemistry shifts towards a biological balance, which one experiences as peace, tranquility, relaxation, equanimity. Slow Flow Yoga is based on aligning with the fluid, organismic intelligence of your body. The deep wisdom of true yoga lies in the understanding that each one of us is different. Honor and work with your individuality, experiencing for yourself the yogic wisdom of “Unity through Diversity.”

YIN YOGA - All levels
Yin Yoga is a complementary yoga practice to the more dynamic and invigorating yoga styles that are predominant today. In Yin Yoga, floor postures are held passively for several minutes in order to access a safe and positive 'stress' on the deep layers of connective tissue in the body. Physically, Yin Yoga restores and maintains the natural mobility of the joints, primarily between the navel and the knees. Energetically, Yin Yoga opens the body's meridian system, which enhances the body's energetic flow and supports emotional equilibrium. And as this practice emphasizes stillness and silence, Yin Yoga prepares both the body and the mind for deeper experiences in meditation.

MOSTLY YIN - All levels
This class is primarily a floor practice comprised of yin poses (sustained, held for time), breath work, and integrated aspects of yoga philosophy. Yin Yoga opens the body's meridian system, which enhances the body's energetic flow and supports emotional equilibrium. And as this practice emphasizes stillness and silence, Yin Yoga prepares both the body and the mind for deeper experiences in meditation.

PRENATAL YOGA - All levels
This class is a combination of movement flow and meditation, consisting of sequences of yoga postures guided by the breath and designed to support and accommodate the physical and energetic changes of pregnancy. A great way to meet other expectant mothers in the community.
